My name is Dave, surprisingly. I am a retired 50 something with 40 odd years of film-watching and cinema-going under my belt. From travelling into town on a Friday night as a 10 year old to the local cinema; to student days of film clubs and film societies and Regional Film Theatres; through the advent of multiplexes; to DVDs and the home cinemas of the present. I have a passion for and an interest in all things to do with film which lead me to an “A” level in Film Studies in my 40s.

This blog will pick up on the breadth and depth of film to provide information and opinion in equal measure. But, above all, I want it to be fun and understandable.
